Christopher K. Middleton, is a founding partner of the award winning law firm Cox, Rodman & Middleton, LLC located in Savannah, Georgia. With over 15 years of working in the legal field he has garnished a strong reputation for professionalism, integrity, and work ethic. Middleton attributes his strong work ethic to his mother, Martha L. Middleton. As a single parent of 3 children, she often worked 2 jobs to provide for the family. As a tribute to her, in 2008, Middleton created the Omega Holiday Makeover project where he renovates the property of a single parent and provides furniture and holiday gifts for the children in the family. This initiative continues today.
Middleton’s legal experience includes civil and criminal litigation. Additionally, he serves the citizens of Chatham County as a Judge pro tem in the Recorder’s Court and Juvenile Court. He was appointed to the position in 2018 and later elected by his colleagues as the District 1 representative for the Municipal Judges Council.
Middleton is a proud member of the Savannah Bar Association and the Port City Bar Association. He is also admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
After graduating from Savannah State University, Middleton began working as an assistant to former Mayor, the Honorable Floyd Adams, Jr. While serving in this capacity he learned a lot about communication, problem-solving and people. He also learned about the philosophy of servant leadership as he addressed the concerns of citizens daily on behalf of the Mayor.
Middleton later attended Vermont Law School where he was elected as Senator of the Student Bar Association. He was also a member of the VLS Student Ambassadors program, Student Services Committee, VLS Diversity Committee, SBA Finance Committee, Student Activity Committee, and the Pro Bono Committee. At graduation, he received the prestigious “VLS Alumni” award for his commitment to the institution, the students, and the community. He later returned to Savannah, Georgia where he began his professional legal career as an assistant public defender for the Eastern Judicial Circuit.
While working in the public defender’s office, he quickly advanced to the following positions: Senior Trial Team Leader, Major Crimes Division Litigator, Felony Division Chief, and Interim Chief Public Defender. While working at the Public Defender’s Office, Middleton resolved over 2000 cases.
