Christopher K. Middleton, a founding partner of Cox, Rodman & Middleton, LLC in Savannah, Georgia, boasts over 15 years of legal experience. Known for his professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic, Middleton credits his mother, Martha L. Middleton, for instilling these values. In honor of her, he established the Omega Holiday Makeover project in 2008, dedicated to renovating properties of single parents and providing holiday gifts for their children.

Middleton’s legal expertise spans civil and criminal litigation, and he serves as a Judge pro tem in Chatham County’s Recorder’s Court and Juvenile Court since his appointment in 2018. Elected as the District 1 representative for the Municipal Judges Council by his peers, Middleton is an active member of the Savannah Bar Association and the Port City Bar Association. He is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Christopher K. Middleton’s core values reflect his upbringing and diverse experiences. Before pursuing law, Middleton excelled academically and athletically. As a graduate of Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, he was not only a distinguished member of the AFJROTC cadet program but also achieved recognition in football and wrestling, earning state and national honors.

Continuing his journey at Savannah State University, Middleton graduated cum laude with dual degrees in Mass Communication (concentration in Public Relations & Advertising) and English Literature & Language. His outstanding character and leadership were honored with the prestigious “President’s Second Mile” Award, acknowledging his exceptional contributions to the university community.

Middleton’s involvement in student organizations and campus administration, coupled with his role as Chief Justice of the Student Government Association, showcases his commitment to service and leadership. Additionally, his athletic prowess as a member of the Savannah State University Tigers’ defensive unit further highlights his dedication and excellence in various endeavors.

Following his tenure at Savannah State University, Christopher K. Middleton’s journey led him to serve as an assistant to former Mayor, the Honorable Floyd Adams, Jr. This role provided Middleton with invaluable experiences in communication, problem-solving, and the principles of servant leadership as he addressed citizen concerns on behalf of the Mayor.

Furthering his education, Middleton attended Vermont Law School, where he actively engaged in various student organizations and committees, including serving as Senator of the Student Bar Association and participating in the VLS Student Ambassadors program, among others. His dedication and contributions to the institution and community earned him the prestigious “VLS Alumni” award upon graduation.

Returning to Savannah, Georgia, Middleton commenced his professional legal career as an assistant public defender for the Eastern Judicial Circuit. Through his tenure, he demonstrated remarkable skill and leadership, advancing to several key positions within the Public Defender’s Office, including Senior Trial Team Leader, Major Crimes Division Litigator, Felony Division Chief, and Interim Chief Public Defender. His commitment to justice is evidenced by the resolution of over 2000 cases during his tenure at the Public Defender’s Office.
